    Event description

    Join Anti-Slavery Australia in Brisbane for a free training on identifying, preventing and responding to forced marriage.

    Frontline workers will learn good practices informed by Anti-Slavery Australia's research with frontline workers, young people and people with lived experience, as well as its 20 years of experience providing free legal services to people affected by modern slavery.

    There will be case studies, interactive activities and networking opportunities to build a stronger response to forced marriage and other forms of modern slavery in Queensland.

    Key topics will include:
    • What forced marriage/modern slavery is, and how it can happen in Australia
    • Common signs and indicators of forced marriage
    • How to support people affected by forced marriage
    • Specialist referral pathways in Australia
    • Prevention within families and communities

    Participants will be provided with:
    • Free copies of our Frontline Worker Guide on Forced Marriage and workbook
    • Free copies of our forced marriage posters, flyers and other resources for the community
    • Light refreshments
