Description

Autoimmunity in Women: Mechanisms and Emerging Therapies

Women account for nearly 80% of autoimmune disease cases in the United States, yet the biological reasons behind this disparity have only recently come into focus. Join us for a conversation at the frontier of one of medicine's most important emerging questions: why are women so much more vulnerable to autoimmune disease, and what are we going to do about it?

This panel brings together a researcher whose work is rewriting our understanding of the X chromosome's role in immunity, a precision medicine entrepreneur deploying AI to predict and prevent lupus flares, and a pharmaceutical executive translating the latest science into therapies reaching patients today. Together, they will explore the mechanisms driving sex-biased autoimmunity, the diagnostic and therapeutic tools now entering the clinic, and where the next decade of innovation is headed.
