    Event description

Live music lovers, I Love it Live is rapt to present a very special showcase event featuring three stars from our recent emerging artist pathway program, Garage 2 Gig.

Kaiyah Mercedes is an LGBTQI+ singer/songwriter who, at just 17 years old, has already gained recognition for her deep and introspective music. Her lyrics are crafted with an intention to connect with listeners, touching on relatable themes such as young love, heartbreak, and the struggles of being a teenager in today’s world. Her music is a testament to her ability to capture the universal experiences of adolescence and beyond.

As part of the launch of her brand new album, Kaiyah and her band will perform tracks from 'Trying to Hate You' as well as the best of the rest of her impressive catalogue.

Local chanteuse C ME is a musician based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. Holding a diverse skillset in the creative world, with a focus on songwriting and lyricism.

C ME is an independent artist and has released six tracks in a 12-month time-period. Her first single, stay this time, released in 2021, was a co-produced, pop-alt song.

She is an avid lover and performer of blues, alternative rock, pop and jazz, having sung around St Kilda and Fitzroy from the age of 16. These genres have been fuel for her original tracks, additionally sourcing from other sounds like soul and hip-hop, to create layers in the C ME soundscape.

Exploding onto the R&B/Pop scene, singer songwriter and producer Jessie Hillel takes on her alter ego as Jhm (pronounced ‘Jim’).

Presenting an adventurous mix of classical vocal techniques, layered harmonies, hip-hop rhythms and orchestral flavours, Jhm creates her own world of lush tropical beats with a contemporary flare.

Drawing inspiration from Griff, Solange and FKA Twigs, Jhm combines jazz, soul, R&B, pop and classical forms while injecting them into modern productions, delivering songs which immediately feel like old friends with new shoes.

All performers had the opportunity to strut their stuff in front of large new audiences as part of the Garage 2 Gig Program, which matched and funded emerging artists with headliners in venues across Port Phillip.

The program was made possible by the City of Port Phillip's Cultural Development Fund.

Come along and get a glimpse of the future of Melbourne's (and very potentially beyond) live music scene at this special performance priced at just $12 (or $15 at the door) to ensure as many as possible can do so.
