Special ISG Seminar: Gender Dynamics and Development
To mark its 60th anniversary, the ANU Indonesia Project is proud to present a special ISG seminar spotlighting emerging scholarship on gender and development in Indonesia. This seminar features presentations from three former ANU Indonesia Project travel grant recipients, showcasing innovative research at the intersection of gender, policy, history, and economic transformation.
Jayne Fendyk (DFAT) explores the role of women’s organizations in shaping Indonesia’s anti-sexual violence law. Amara Steven (University of Tasmania) examines the growing role of women in Indonesia’s blue economy and marine sectors. Bronwyn Jones (University of Melbourne) explores Questions of Scale in Indonesian Gender History: Reflections and Directions. Jennifer Donohoe, Director, Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, will chair this special ISG.
Join us for a rich and interdisciplinary discussion on how gender continues to shape and be shaped by Indonesia’s development journey, past and present.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear fresh perspectives from the next generation of Indonesianists.
