Special Olympics WA – Tennis Program – Term 1, 2025

Special Olympics is a global movement that provides sports and recreational opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. Our programs promote inclusion, build confidence, and create opportunities for participants to develop skills, make friends, and have fun in a supportive environment.

Affiliate programs are partnerships between Special Olympics Australia (SOA) and local organisations to deliver inclusive programs for people with intellectual disabilities. These programs align with our mission of inclusion and provide opportunities to develop skills, teamwork, and friendships.

Who:
This program is for people with intellectual disabilities who want to learn and play tennis while having fun and improving their skills.

What:
A tennis program where athletes will develop their tennis skills and have fun with others in a welcoming environment. Proudly partnering with Break Point Tennis, an approved delivery partner of Special Olympics Tennis.

When:

• Saturdays for 9 weeks
• Time: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
• Starts on Saturday, 8 February, and ends 5 April.

Where:
South Perth Tennis Club
Corner of South Terrace & Sandgate St, South Perth, WA 6151

Why:
To enjoy playing tennis, improve skills, stay active, and make new friends in a supportive and inclusive community.

How Much:
$180 + booking fee ($20.00 per session).

What to Bring:

• Wear comfortable sportswear and tennis shoes.
• Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
• Be sun smart: wear a hat, apply sunscreen, and bring sunglasses if needed.
• Tennis rackets will be provided, or you can bring your own.
