Special Olympics WA – UNIFIED® Ten-Pin Bowling League – Melville – Term 1, 2025
Who:
This program is for everyone! There are two types of people who join:
- Athletes are people with
intellectual disability and/or autism
- Partners are people without intellectual disability and/or autism
Athletes and Partners play together on the same team. You will bowl, make friends, and have fun while learning about inclusion and teamwork through Unified Sports.
What:
A 10-week ten-pin bowling league where athletes and partners bowl as a team. Unified Sports teams include both athletes and partners, helping to promote inclusion, teamwork, and friendship.
When:
- Every Thursday for 10 Weeks
- Starts on Thursday, 6 February, and ends on, Thursday, 9 April
- Time: 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM each week

Melville Superbowl

Why:
To have fun bowling, meet new friends, and be part of a team that celebrates everyone’s abilities. Unified Sports bring people together, help break down barriers and create a space for respect and inclusion.

How Much:
- $20 per week ($10 per game - payable to the venue on arrival)
Special Offers and Important Information:
- First two sessions FREE (February 6th and 14th) for those who register before 5:00 PM, Sunday 2 February
- All other costs are FREE for this program, thanks to Special Olympics Australia and the Australian Government-Department of Social Services Information, Linkages and Capacity Building Grant.
- You’ll receive a FREE Play Unified T-shirt.
- We ask everyone to complete a survey at the start and end of the program.
- Paper copies of the survey and assistance will be available at the venue.
- Participants are encouraged to join TBA (Tenpin Bowling Australia) to receive related benefits such as incentive awards and exclusive discounts. You can sign up at TBA Registration.
What to Bring for Ten-Pin Bowling:
- Comfortable Clothing: Wear casual, comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely.
- Enclosed Shoes: To protect your feet from heavy bowling balls and ensure safety while you bowl.
- Water Bottle: Stay hydrated during the session.
- Positive Attitude: Bring your enthusiasm and get ready to have fun!
All bowling equipment, such as bowling balls and shoes, will be provided at the venue. If you have your own bowling ball or shoes, you’re welcome to bring them.
