Event description

The Uptime Accelerator-Maintenance Planning and Scheduling for Manufacturing

Industry Partners Australia is proud to support Simon Murray

Event Overview:

Are you a Maintenance or Operations leader in manufacturing? Yes? Then you will know the impact that breakdowns can have on production and of course on your stress levels!

I hear teams blaming poor reliability on many things. Old equipment, changing production schedules, even the team members themselves. But let me tell you a secret. The root cause is always the ability of the maintenance team to identify and fix problems before they cause a breakdown.

Good Planning & Scheduling means that Maintenance and Production are working together to prevent and fix problems before they stop production.

The Uptime Accelerator™
Early in my career, I went to an industry-leading reliability conference. A few years later I sent one of my planners on a Planning & Scheduling course. We both spent 2 days (and a lot of money) listening to some amazing speakers. And we both came back to work with big, thick, impressive workbooks.

The problem though, was that the content was aimed at mining and major utilities. This a big difference from what we needed as a maintenance team in a complex manufacturing environment.

For these reasons, this is the only Planning & Scheduling course designed just for manufacturers. You will of course learn best practice methods. More importantly, you will also learn how to introduce these methods into a chaotic production environment.

What will you learn?

  • How to get Maintenance and Production working together.
  • Why PMs are only half of the story.
  • The roles and responsibilities of the Planning & Scheduling process.
  • How to work with changing production schedules.
  • Steps to reduce maintenance spend by planning more.
  • How to implement the best measures to move your team forward.

Take a closer look at the program here.

This event runs over two days, each session starts at 8.30 am concluding at 4:00 pm.

 LinkedIn Profile

Simon Murray has spent the last 25 years building, leading and coaching high-performance maintenance teams in manufacturing.

In 2012, after many years of getting factories out of reactive mode, he started Your Maintenance Coach so that he could help more teams to be successful. With a goal of ensuring that no maintenance manager gets woken up in the middle of the night with the dreaded breakdown call and there is no blame and arguments in the daily operations meetings.

While Simon trains and coaches in all aspects of Reliability Excellence, planning and scheduling is the area where he spends most of his time. This is because he knows, after working with dozens of teams around the world that it is this daily discipline that will form the foundation for all of your future improvements.
