Spectra Jazz Orchestra, formerly The Young Women’s Jazz Orchestra, is a dynamic large ensemble championing young women and gender diverse musicians aged 16-24.
Under the expert leadership of award-winning trumpet player Ellen Kirkwood, Spectra musicians come together to explore jazz, hone their improvisation talents and perform as a dynamic large ensemble.
The concert features six works by Australian composers, including band member and budding composer Katie Bombardieri, and offers a taste of their latest album ‘Supernova’.
