FAQs
I’m a bloke – is this really for me?
A: Absolutely! Anyone can join in the celebration; the more, and diverse, the merrier.
Can we sit together?
A: Rather than being a seated event, this High Tea is served cocktail style so that you can meet and mingle with others. Fear not – if your feet get tired there will also be chairs and tables, however seating bookings are not required.
What are the prizes?
A: We are still finalising silent auction and door prizes and will announce more information soon. Don't forget to follow our Facebook event to keep up to date with prizes. The auction will be conducted on the day with bids closing during the event.
Is this a fundraising event?
First and foremost, this is an inclusive community event where all are welcome to join in the fun. Having said that, any funds raised enable our Women’s Council to continue to grow and support the next generation of young women on the spectrum. Women and girls find it harder to get a diagnosis and are often diagnosed later in life when some of the challenges they have faced mean their mental health is not as good as it could be. Raising awareness is an important part of the work the Women’s Council do and we want to ensure they can keep doing it!
What's in store for the Women's Council in 2021?
Well, last year was a bit of a wash-out and the Council couldn't achieve some of their goals. So in 2021 they will re-focus on visiting educators to talk about how to best accommodate autistic children in the classroom.Â
Are there any discounted tickets?
A: Yes, if you are a current participant in a Spectrum Space program you may be eligible for a discounted ticket. Please email Scott at ssadler@spectrumspace.org.au to find out more.
How do I find the Facebook event?
A: Here is the link: https://fb.me/e/2aHTMSvkq Don't forget to click 'Attending' on this Facebook event page, and this is also where we'll be announcing raffle prizes, sharing event information and answering your questions.
