Speed Meet & Game Night

18 years + only event

Albury Wodonga Social Connections invites you to join them for a Speed Meet & Game Night. A fun way to meet and connect with others in a safe and facilitated environment.

There will be card and board games, puzzles, photo booth, finger food, music and a 'speed meet' activity. 

Cost: $30 a ticket per attendee (includes, finger food, games, activities, photos). 

After you have registered and paid for the event, an Event Guide will be emailed to you. The Event Guide outlines information about what to expect on the night.

Guidelines for the evening:

- All attendees are required to be 18 years of age and above to attend the event.

- Transport to and from the venue is the responsibility of each attendee.

- Alcohol is consumed at the discretion of each adult attending the event. Drinks are available at bar prices. 

- If you require additional supports to assist you during the evening, please discuss this with your team to ensure they are available to attend and support you. This is important as no direct support is available on the night. There is a perceived level of competency for support workers in attendance.

- Please note, there will be discussions occurring during the evening about friendships, relationships, dating apps, online safety, etc. Any restrictions or concerns about these topics should be considered prior to registering.

- All attendees have the right to feel safe during the event. Any person who attempts to intimidate or harass another person on the evening will be asked to leave.

- A photographer will be in attendance to take photos of the event. Attendees will be provided copies of photos with them in it. Please advise volunteers on the night if you DO NOT want your photo taken.

- There will be games and activities to assist you to HAVE FUN, MINGLE and MAKE SOCIAL CONNECTIONS!

What is a 'speed meet' activity?

A 'speed meet' activity is a short activity undertaken to meet new people, ask a few questions and maybe make a new friend. You will sit down at a small table with one other person and ask them some questions. Then they get to ask you questions as well. There will be a timer set for a few minutes and after this time, an alarm will sound, and then you get to do the activity with another person. If you want, your support person can be with you during the activity too! It's entirely up to you. 

Everyone will ask the same 3 questions and you can also ask a couple of your own questions if you want to. 

Interested but nervous to attend? The questions will be provided to you once you have registered. This will allow you time to practice your answers before attending.

What if I decide not to participate on the night? 

If you decide on the night not to participate in the 'speed meet' activity, that is fine. You may choose to watch others participating in the activity and then join in the games and entertainment afterwards. 

Can I bring a support person with me?

Yes you can bring a support person with you on the night.

Does my support person need to pay to attend with me?

No, your support person does not need to pay to attend with you. We ask that you let us know if you are bringing a support person with you for overall catering purposes. 

Can I speak with you before purchasing a ticket?

What do you use my photo/image for and why do you ask for my consent?

We utilise photos/images to promote future events via social media platforms to show others what the event involves. However, we respect your privacy and if you decide that you do not want your photo taken, we will make sure that no image of you is utilised on social media when we promote the event/activity undertaken.
