Tired of Tinder? Had it with Hinge? Come along to a cute and casual speed dating party at Burdekin Rooftop. You'll go on 20 snappy dates with 20 single babes, drinking and talking and probably drinking some more. You can expect to be one of 40-80 singles. There'll be lots of delicious food and drinks on offer at the bar and a playlist of sultry songs to get you in the mood.
We'll also have heaps of conversation cards with all the most important first date Qs like "On a scale of Norman Bates to Tom Hanks, how emotionally available are you?" and "What's the dirtiest thing you can say in a foreign language?" as well as a competition to submit your own, where you can win a $50 bar voucher!
This one is for straight/straightish people. Don't let us call your night short, continue to drink and dance afterwards to our cheesy/trashy playlist of lurrrrve!

You will need to show proof of your double vax status on the door. We strongly recommend bringing hand sanitiser, wearing a mask when not drinking/eating and if possible, getting your booster shot and doing a RAT before attending (if you have access to them).

FAQs
What's the refund policy?
If you are experiencing any symptoms whatsoever or get an alert that you are a close contact, please postpone your attendance - we are more than happy to transfer your tickets to a later date at no extra cost. The nature of the event means we're pretty reliant on numbers, so please be conscious of this and give us as much notice as possible so we have time to replace you - as a courtesy to us. Full refunds (as opposed to transfers) are available up to 7 days prior to the event. We won't be able to offer you a refund or transfer if you are a no-show/don't contact us until after the event has started.
So wait, I have to bring a date in order to get a date?
If you're able to, we're just asking you to bring a friend of a different gender. We do it this way in part because it helps us throw bigger and better events, but we've also found having a heap of guys there that have been vouched for by a woman (or two) helps us maintain a safe space. If you can't find a wingman/wingwoman, you'll need to join the waitlist for solo tix - if you've tried a few times now and still not gotten in, it is random so please keep trying!
Is there an age range?
We don't have an age policy but to give you a guide our demographic is usually people in their 20s and 30s, with most attendees sitting between 25 and 35. If you sit outside of this age range, you can still come but we have noticed a trend wherein people younger/older will get much fewer matches. If you have an idea for a dating night please hit us up and we'll see if we can do one to fit your needs :)
Will I date everyone?
Not usually, no. There will be between 40 and 80 people, however you'll only go on 20-22 dates. There will be time before, mid-way and after the event to chat to people that you won't date though, so please don't be shy. You don't need to be sat at a table to have a nice convo.
Do I get free drinks just for showing up?
Nah. We know some speed dating organisers bribe their guests with free drinks, but we have full confidence in the fun factor of our events, so don't feel the need for bribes. Please also keep in mind, many of these other companies charge $60+ a ticket.
How much privacy will we have?
We'll have the exclusive use of the venue - no lurkers, only ticket holders!
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Name changes on the door are fine but if you can let us know in advance it's always appreciated as we make cute handwritten name stickers for everyone.
