This Artist Talk SPINNING WITH THE LOOMINARIES is an opportunity to chat and try spinning with a group of spinners who know the craft intimately - from growing the fleece themselves, to dyeing, spinning then crafting their beautiful creations.
Come along to get an overview of the life-cycle of their beautiful projects. The ladies will have some extra spinning wheels on hand so you can try it for yourself. It is suitable for children 12 and above but youngsters will need to be supervised.
The Loominaries are a spinning and weaving group who had their beginnings in the Stone Pippin Wool Shop right next to the Geeveston Post Office! They've been in the Town Hall for a few years now, and you'll often see them (and hear them) working away next to the fire every Friday.
Maybe you have inherited a wheel and don't know how to use it? Or need some tips on how to start? The Loominaries are in the hall (downstairs) from 10:30 - 12:30pm. Please come down and say hello!
