SPIRAL Coast - Kibble Park - Gosford-Aerial Hoop/Lyra and Juggling
Event description
As part of the ACTIVE FEST 2023, Roundabout Circus brings to the community a series of free events that will allow you, your kids, friends, and family to practice circus skills and learn from experienced teachers and enjoy creative play together. We practice all flow toys, juggling, hula hoop, acro and unicycling. Our Active Fest events will include 3x SPIRAL Coast at Gosford, 3x Make your own equipment and Aerial workshops at Wyoming plus partnerships with Sunset sessions Woy Woy, and Active Fest events at The Entrance and Terrigal.
We will be adding FREE workshops to our regular SPIRAL Coast event thanks to the funding from Office of Sport NSW.
June 4th - Poi & Aerial silks
July 2nd - Juggling & Aerial Hoop/Lyra
August 6th - Hula Hoop and Dance Trapeze
Alongside these workshops will be our circus jam where you can try something new or come and practice our favourite skills. Bring your own toys and some spares will be available to borrow. Everyone is welcome - beginner or expert. Our team will help guide you if you are a beginner but this part is not a structured workshop and we encourage creative safe exploration of the equipment and activities. For partner acro we suggest using a spotter for all new skills.
Music and smiles will be provided.

3:30-4:30 Teen & Adult Juggling with TBC. (beginner-intermediate level)
4-4:45pm* Adult Aerial Lyra Taster Session 18+ yrs
*For experienced Roundabout Circus aerialists there will be 15 minute windows between workshops where you can have a play on the aerials and show off your favorite tricks.
Spaces are limited so we encourage you to sign up in advance so you don't miss out. If spaces are available then we will take extra people on the day.
Aerial Taster Session Information:
We will have one aerial point and maximum 8 people booked in for the workshop. Those that are booked in will be given a number and they can watch and play with the other circus equipment until their turn during the allowed session. They will each get approximately 3-5 mins on the equipment to try out several skills under the instruction of an experienced trainer. By booking the aerial workshop you are acknowledging there are risks involved in the activity and that the participant is physically capable of undertaking the tasks. If there are any prior injuries or physical limitations to participation, these must be communicated with the instructor. A crash mat will be provided. WHAT TO WEAR - Clothing must not have any zippers or metal buttons. If you are not wearing appropriate clothing you may be declined to participate due to the risk of damage to the equipment. Shirts should cover armpits and lower back and pants or leggings should be at least knee length. All participants must remove any jewellery and watches that could cause holes in the silks fabric.
WET WEATHER PLAN - ALL WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES WILL BE RELOCATED TO OUR WYOMING WAREHOUSE AT UNIT 1, 2 EVAN CLOSE WYOMING (OFF BROOKS AVE).
