Spirit of Love - Circle of Prayers with Cacao

We invite you to join us in a ceremony with Cacao, a sacred gathering of offerings, prayers, gratitude, and love for our ancestors and the sacred Mother of all things.

This ceremony focuses on prayers of love in your relationship with your duality and your inner self. We will conclude the ceremony with a beautiful flower blessing to honour life and connection.

At the centre of our practice is our grandfather Fire, guiding us as we focus our intentions on the relationship we hold with each of the four elements, working through our heart centres with the Cacao Spirit.

During the ceremony, we will give offerings to Fire, pray over Water, receive a cleansing with the white smoke of Copal resin, and use cacao, tobacco, corn, and flowers as offerings to the Earth and all the elements to show gratitude for all that we receive. This is a space to give back to life, creating a sacred environment where we can express appreciation and reverence through our offerings.

The cacao ceremony is designed to align, balance, and harmonise all levels of consciousness: the physical body, the spirit or wisdom center, the mental, and the emotional or heart centre. Cacao, known as the “water that runs through the heart,” invites participants into a deeply heart-centred experience, accompanied by traditional songs and prayers offered to the heart of Tonantzin (Beloved Mother Earth).

This ceremony is dedicated to cultivating a relationship with the teachings and wisdom of Mother Earth as a conscious being and learning to live in right relationship with all our relations. Cacao has traditionally been known as the “food of the heart,” and its heart-opening properties are not just metaphorical but deeply experiential, offering an opportunity to connect with the inner self, the community, and the natural world.

Practical details: Please bring a cushion to sit on and a candle in a glass jar, as the ceremony will be held in an outdoor space, allowing us to connect more fully with the spirits of nature and the fire.
