Trisha Dixon : Spirit of the Garden

The kindness and generosity of spirit of gardeners and the joy of writing and photographing garden and design books is central to Trisha Dixon's life as a garden writer and photographer and tour leader. Many gardens in the Goulburn district were Trisha's inspiration for her life journey travelling throughout Australia and abroad researching, visiting, photographing, writing and taking people to visit gardens and landscapes.

Growing up in a beautiful garden in the Goulburn district and with the Bungonia Gorge nearby, Trisha's childhood encapsulated adventures in the wonderful natural landscape as well as childhood visits to parents friends gardens in the district before spending 9 years at a school in a garden and then following the footsteps of Australia's most notable landscape designer, Edna Walling through all her remaining gardens including some of the most beautiful in Australia. Books on Edna Walling, landscape design, country gardens and editing Australian Garden History were followed by more philosophic books: Adagio, and then her latest Spirit of the Garden, which will be available at the talk.
