Spiritual Wellness Retreat Canberra
Event description
Spiritual Wellness Retreat – A Day of Heart, Connection & Renewal
Step into a sacred day of connection, awakening, and self-discovery at the Spiritual Wellness Retreat held at Change Yoga & Wellness in Scullin, Canberra. This nurturing one-day experience invites you to slow down, reconnect with your heart, and open to the deeper layers of your being — supported by mindful movement, energetic exploration, and soulful community. During the retreat you will experience a handful of soul nourishing practices:
1) Sacred Cacao Journey — inviting you to connect to the heart’s wisdom through the gentle, uplifting energy of ceremonial-grade cacao. This sacred plant medicine supports presence, inner clarity, and emotional openness as you set your intentions for the day ahead.
2) Social Tantra Class — an embodied exploration of authentic connection, conscious non-sexual touch, and energetic awareness. A well-known example of a social tantra practice is eye gazing. This session is open to individuals, friends and couples. Participants will be guided through heart-centred practices designed to cultivate presence and connection. Throughout the class, participants will rotate to allow for varied energetic experiences and interpersonal awareness; however, people who prefer to stay together are warmly welcome to do so. In this safe and inclusive space, you’ll be supported to connect with yourself and others with respect, openness, and care.
3) Crystal Sound Bath — a powerful experience of nourishing and healing vibrations. Allow the smooth frequencies and healing energies of the crystal bowls to harmonise your energy field, integrate the mind, body and spirit, and leave you feeling deeply restored and aligned.
Why Attend
This retreat offers a beautiful blend of spiritual practice, somatic connection, and energetic healing. Whether you’re seeking to open your heart, restore your energy, or simply take time to reconnect with yourself, this day will support you to return to your centre — grounded, nourished, and renewed.
Come as you are. Leave feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply connected — to yourself, to others, and to the sacred rhythm of life.
What to bring?
Please bring a yoga mat, a water bottle, notepad and pen, plus any personal seating or relaxation props that you might like to use for meditation, including eye pillows and pillows. The studio is equipped with bolsters, blocks and blankets so no need to bring those along unless you would like your own.
We'll provide tea and snacks; however, we would suggest bringing something along for your lunch. Alternatively, Sweet Bones Café is right next door to the yoga studio and is a good option for food and drinks during the break. However, the wait times can be long with a large group of us so we do recommend bringing along your own food if that is an option for you.

FAQs
1) I have dietary requirements — will I be able to have the cacao?
Yes, absolutely. Our cacao is made with ceremonial-grade cacao, pure coconut cream, and honey — making it naturally gluten-free and dairy-free. We’ll also be offering a vegan option, sweetened with rice malt syrup or maple syrup instead of honey. If you have any other dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so we can do our best to accommodate you.
2) What does tantra look like in this context?
This is a clothed and inclusive workshop focused on connection, presence, and embodiment — not on sexual expression. You’ll be guided through gentle practices designed to help you connect with yourself and others in physically, mentally, and emotionally safe ways. During the session, you’ll have the choice to work with different people or stay with one person if you prefer.
3) What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement — similar to what you’d wear to a yoga or meditation class. Layers are recommended as your body temperature may change throughout the cacao journey and tantra session.
4) I’m new to tantra — is this suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. This session is designed to be gentle, welcoming, and beginner friendly. All exercises are guided, and you’ll always have the choice to participate at your own comfort level.
5) What is cacao, and why do we use it?
Cacao is the pure form of chocolate — used traditionally in ceremonial settings to open the heart, deepen presence, and support emotional release. It contains theobromine, which promotes gentle energy and a feeling of wellbeing. The cacao journey will help you connect more deeply to yourself before moving into the social tantra practices.
