The Spooky Men's Chorale in concert at the Adelaide Town Hall
Drop deadpan beautiful mansinging that may well change your life.
The Spooky Men’s Chorale is a vast, rumbling, steam powered and black clad behemoth, seemingly accidentally capable of rendering audiences moist eyed with mute appreciation or haplessly gurgling with merriment. Based on the twin pillars of grand foolishness and the quest for the perfect subwoofer-rattling boofchord, the Spooky Men seek to commentate on the absurdity and grandeur of the modern male armed only with their voices, a sly collection of hats and facial hair, and a twinkle in the eye.
IMPORTANT TICKETING INFORMATION:
Your ticket gets you into the concert (of course!) plus.... the option of free attendance at the Axis of Spook workshop on Sunday 30 July (the day of the concert) from 1 to 3 pm.
From out of this workshop, the Axis of Spook choir will form for one night only. You will learn 2 songs to perform with the Spooky Men at the concert. In addition to the workshop, full learning materials for the 2 songs will be available online and sent to you, as well as the rehearsal details (in central Adelaide). The 2 songs are "Treaty", by Yothu Yindi, and "Sweetest Kick" by Stephen Taberner. If you are in an established choir and can get a group of 10 choir mates together then take advantage of our discounted choir group deal ($44 ticket). If you can't summon 9 choir friends then the $49 choir individual ticket is the one for you. If it's all too confusing, just buy lots of the $59 tickets.
The Spooky Men are all, at the very least, double or triple vaxxed.
Whilst masks are no longer compulsory in entertainment settings we do encourage you to be fully vaccinated and
to wear a mask where you cannot socially distance or if it makes you feel more comfortable in going out to a
show such as ours. And of course, if you are showing any symptoms or if you are in any way unwell, we please
ask that you do not attend the concert. Prompt refunds will be made should this be the case, or if the gig is
cancelled for COVID reasons.
