Spooky Stories at the Library
Event description
Join us at the City of Vincent Library for an evening of eerie tales and local legends in the lead-up to Halloween.
Emeritus Professor Dr Graham Seal AM, one of Australia’s leading folklore experts and a master storyteller, will join us to share a selection of chilling tales. Graham has spent decades collecting and studying the myths, legends, and ghost stories that shape our cultural imagination. His newly released book Best Australian Ghost Stories gathers some of the spookiest tales from across the country, including eerie encounters from right here in Western Australia. At this special event he will bring a few of these ghostly stories to life for a night of atmospheric storytelling.
You can purchase a copy of Best Australian Ghost Stories on the evening, courtesy of Planet Books.
After Graham’s tales, audience members who would like to share a true spooky story or real-life experience will have the chance to do so. If you would like to tell a story, please indicate this when booking your ticket and we will assign you a time slot. Due to time constraints, not everyone may be able to speak on the night. You will be contacted prior to the event to confirm whether you’ve been allocated a storytelling slot. Storytelling is completely optional, and guests are just as welcome to come along and listen.
Please note: this is an 18+ event and may include content not suitable for younger audiences.
