Description

Learn to carve a spoon in a day with Kathryn Rogers and Beck Stubbs.

Kathryn and Beck are both experienced teachers who met through their mutual love of spoon carving. We are delighted that they bring together these two wonderful skills to lead workshops at Found Outdoors. Check out their work on Instagram: Kathryn and Beck

The day will include:

  • Overview of the spoon making process

  • An introduction to carving tools

  • Design your own spoon

  • Paced, staged instruction

  • Break - hot drinks and cake

  • Further instruction

  • Lunch - please bring a packed lunch

  • Continued making

  • The day will end at 4pm

The course will be based in the barn or out in the woods around a fire pit (weather permitting) at Found Outdoors. No experience is necessary and with no more than ten in the group there will be plenty of opportunity for personal guidance.

There will be more advanced options for those who have attended a previous workshop or already have spoon carving experience.

All tools, hot drinks and most importantly cake will be provided.

BONUS - Wiltshire Spoon Club Membership
In 2025 we launched Wiltshire Spoon Club - monthly social spoon carving sessions at Found Outdoors with Beck and Kathryn. As an attendee of this workshop you will automatically have access to this group forever! Full details on our website: Wiltshire Spoon Club

FAQs

  • How do I get there?

Our address is: Townsend Woods, Great Cheverell, SN10 5TW Look for the black signs and a wooden 5 bar gate about 80 metres from the junction of the B3098 and High Street/Pear Tree Lane. On What3Words we are - ///occur.meal.sharp

  • What should I wear?

We always keep all our fingers and toes crossed for good weather however please dress for the unpredictable British weather. In the summer we recommend long sleeved shirts and long trousers as a precaution against ticks. Please check for ticks when you get home. It will be cooler in the woods so extra layers are a good idea. The ground is uneven in places and can be muddy so sturdy footwear is advised.

  • What about food and drink?

We will provide tea, coffee, water and cake. Please bring your own lunch and any other snacks you might need.
