Join Carol & Stuart from Heartwood Creative Woodworking for an immersive spoon carving workshop. This is an ideal course for those new to carving using seasoned timber, where participants will have plenty of time to learn tips & tricks to craft their spoon.
The course content covers the following areas:
- timber suitable for carving
- Grain direction
- Creating templates for design
- Holding options for safety
- Cutting technique
- Sharpening & stropping
- Sanding & finishing
- General safety
Materials provided | A variety of spoon blanks | Carving tools & gloves | Notes on course content.
Please bring an apron & dust mask | Wear enclosed shoes with leather uppers if possible | Your personal carving tools to learn how to sharpen them.
Lunch supplied with tea & coffee.
