Spoon Carving Workshop
Event description
Come out for a day of woodcarving in beautiful bushlands of Hurstbridge
Sally will be providing all the tools, materials and guidance needed to carve your very own wooden eating spoon.
Sharing a day together in learning the ways of wood, getting to know carving tools and up skilling yourself in ancestral craft.
By the end you will not only have your own unique and practical creation in your hands to keep, but a soothing remembrance of primal ways that feeds the soul.
In the workshop we will go over how to ethically forage timber, what wood species are good for carving, correct techniques and knife safety followed by a demonstration of how to axe out a spoon blank, then you will carve your own from pre-made spoon blanks.
We shall spend the day whittling and connection outside among at my cottage home gardens.
- All tools, materials and herbal tea is provided
- Wear clothes that you don't mind getting wood shavings over
- Bring a potluck meal or snacks to share together for lunch + water bottle and a sitting mat/cushion/chair to sit on in each ever way your comfortable
