As we look ahead to the 2026 Origin Series and celebrate the 20-year anniversary of Queensland’s iconic 2006 victory, this exclusive Sportsmans Lunch brings fans closer to the rivalry than ever before. In partnership with the Sunshine Coast Falcons and The Dock Mooloolaba, hear firsthand from the players who helped lay the foundation for the Maroons’ legendary dynasty of eight straight series wins from 2006–2013.
Positioned between Game I and Game II, the afternoon will feature insider stories, live analysis, behind-the-scenes moments from one of Queensland’s most iconic Origin eras, and a look ahead at what’s still to come in this year’s series.

Celebrating 20 Years Since the Start of the Dynasty
2026 marks 20 years since Queensland’s iconic 2006 State of Origin series victory: the moment that shifted Origin history. What began with that famous Maroons win became one of the greatest dynasties in Australian sport, with Queensland going on to claim eight consecutive series victories from 2006–2013.
This special anniversary event brings together players from that era to relive the moments, stories, and turning points that sparked the streak and redefined State of Origin for a generation of rugby league fans.

- How does the seating arrangement work?
Seating arrangements are based on tables of 10. Full tables can be purchased for a discounted rate. If your party exceeds 10 guests, we will seat you across multiple tables placed adjacent to each other. For smaller bookings of fewer than 10, you will be seated at a shared table, providing a great opportunity to talk tactics and mingle with fellow fans.
- Is there a dress code?
We recommend Smart Casual or Business Casual - with the exception of NRL or SoO jerseys, if you feel like showing your team some love!
- Do you cater for dietary requirements?
Absolutely. Please note any allergies or requirements (GF, Vegan, Dairy Free, etc.) during the booking process.
If we do not have your dietary requirements by Friday 29 May, we may be unable to cater to them.
- Where should I park?
While The Wharf has on-site parking (time limits apply), we recommend the ParknGo facility on Smith Street for longer stays. Better yet, since it’s a lunch with a beverage package, we strongly suggest utilising public transport, rideshare or taxi services.
- Will I be seated with my friends if I buy tickets separately?
If you’ve booked separately but want to sit together, please contact our events team with the names of both booking parties, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
- Is the venue accessible?
Yes. Wharf Events is located on the upper level of The Wharf Mooloolaba precinct and has full elevator access.
The event space is a single-level, open-plan layout with no internal stairs or raised platforms.
There is a dedicated accessible bathroom located on the same level as the event space.
The Wharf Mooloolaba offers several designated disability parking bays within the main car park.
Certified service and assistance animals are welcome at the venue. We recommend letting us know in advance so we can make accommodations and ensure your seat has a bit of extra space for them to rest comfortably.
