Introducing Ovation Theatre's New Spotlight Series at Volstead Trading Company!

Join us for a brand-new, intimate musical theatre experience as Ovation Theatre launches its Spotlight Series at the stylish Volstead Trading Company — an evening of live performance, storytelling, and song, up close and personal.

Our debut performer is none other than the talented Alyssa Parkinson, an Invercargill-born performer making waves in Christchurch's musical theatre scene. With a powerhouse voice, charming stage presence, and a growing list of impressive credits, Alyssa brings warmth, authenticity, and passion to every performance.

A recent graduate of NASDA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre, Alyssa’s career highlights include:

• Starring as Agapi in the world premiere of 'Breaking Plates' - The Musical

• Nicola in Kinky Boots (Showbiz, 2024)

• Featured performer in Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park (2022) and Mitre 10 Sparks In The Park (2025)

She's also graced the stage in Ovation Theatre’s own productions of Simply Sondheim, Spring Awakening, and Into the Woods, as well as numerous other shows with NASDA and The Entertainment Company.

This show is more than a cabaret — it’s a celebration of a young artist’s journey, filled with the songs that shaped her and the stories behind them.
