Spring Equinox Gathering at YWNR
Description
We gather to celebrate the Spring Equinox at the precious wetland reserve which is host to an incredible diversity of plant species supporting rich populations of birds, the endangered growling grass frog and myriad insects.
You are invited to join us to honour this seasonal moment through
circling and sharing
wandering with wonder through the reserve
meditation and
celebrating the seasonal shifts & cycles with simple drumming and song!
We will meet at the fire pit at the Meeting Place in the reserve 3.45pm in the centre of the reserve.
Bring a frame drum if you have one- otherwise, your voice and hands!
We acknowledge the seasonal calendar of the Boonwurrung in which the "seasons were not mapped by a calendar but by the movement of the turt (stars) and the blooming of the plants." Narweet Carolyn Briggs.
It is the season of Pareip, with new life emerging, the lillies, daisies, peas and much more are flowering, babies birds are to be seen now, and the frogs are a calling!
Thanks to Danny Fog for another beautiful photo.
