Spring Equinox 2025
Event description
As the Earth begins to warm and the days grow longer, the signs of spring return all around us. The light is balanced once again with the dark, and the season of growth begins. In the Wurundjeri seasonal calendar, this time is known as Poorneet, the Tadpole Season, when life stirs in the waterways and the first warm winds blow through the trees.
We gather in this moment of balance to celebrate the Spring Equinox, also called Ostara, a sacred time to honour beginnings, beauty, and blossoming like the wattle.
Together we will sit in circle, reflect on the season of spring, and share what is emerging for us.
From there, we will take a gentle walking meditation through the beautiful Darebin Parklands, where the land is waking up with yam daisies, birdsong, and new green growth.
Returning to our space, Pauline will teach the Ave Demeter, a simple and sacred circle dance that honours the Goddess in all her forms. This dance honours the Goddess in all her faces. As Maiden, as Mother, as Crone, as mystery. With simple movements and shared voice, we will dance the story of the seasons, letting our bodies remember what our minds may forget. All are welcome to join. |

No experience is needed, only your presence.
We will then return for a shared afternoon tea, closing the ritual in warmth and community.
