Spring Night Sky 2023
Event description
Spring has sprung and the sky has spun, we now look forward to the equinox on September 21st and the longer days and the switch to daylight savings time. Book in for September viewing while there's still a good chance to see Saturn and some celestial stars at a reasonable hour.
In the planetarium we transport you above the cloud deck and demonstrate exactly what is above your heads tonight, pointing out some common constellations from both western and local Maori cultures.
When you leave the planetarium you will be able to look up and recognise the Southern Cross and several other significant objects, any planets that may be present, and feel more connected to the stars like our ancestors were.
