    Event description

Perth City Farm invites you to celebrate the season with us at our first Spring Pick-nic on the farm! Join us for a lazy afternoon of good company, local music and farm produce, all under the shade of our fruit trees and nestled among the harvest gardens.

Bring a basket, pull up a rug, and enjoy a beautiful spring day with us on our little patch of urban paradise! We encourage you to fill your baskets with yummies to sip and snack on, and lots of good local produce to fill your bellies with. We have picnic packs and seasonal farm treats available to order, and our Farmer’s Market is open until 12 noon if you’d like to stock up on goodies when you arrive!

If you want to squeeze the berry best out of your pick-nic experience, you can indulge in a mulberry harvest Devonshire Tea for Two (or four or more!). You can also take home some farm-made mulberry vinegar, seasonal herb salt, and -  if you’re lucky - have your pick of our last mulberries in fruit! For the fashionably inclined, come along in your Spring Best to be in the running for our best dressed competition, and kids of all ages can have a go at making a flower crown.

November is Kambarang (second spring) at Perth City Farm. We get lots of warm and dry days now, and you’ll see lots of life, colours popping and fruits ripen. Many years ago this precious land was near the water course and wetlands that formed a rich source of food for Whadjuk Noongar people. Now, we tend our farm here by regenerative permaculture practices to heal and care for country. We thank the traditional custodians of Boorloo, and look after Boodjar with respect and good stewardship.

    Yanga and Wanju!

BYO food, beverages and picnic baskets, cutlery, plates/cups etc & rugs.

Please be mindful to not bring delicate glassware, and make sure anything you bring to the farm (ie rubbish) leaves with you. We encourage you to use responsible or compostable packaging if you can.

Picnic packs and Harvest Devonshire Tea are available for pre-order with your ticket, and our Farmer’s Market is open until 12pm if you’d like to fill your baskets when you arrive.
