SPRING RENEWAL Forest Therapy Walk
Description
Slow down. Reset. Reconnect.
Feel the need to slow down? Take two hours to step away from everyday life, quiet your mind and reconnect with nature.
Join INFTA Accredited Forest Therapy Guide Chloe for a gentle Spring Renewal Forest Therapy walk through beautiful Seawinds Gardens and surrounding bushland.
This isn’t a hike. It’s not a workout. And there’s nowhere you need to get to.
It’s two hours to slow down, switch off and be present. To put your phone away, quiet your busy mind and notice what’s around you — the birdsong, the changing light, the scent of the forest, the textures beneath your feet and the small moments of wonder that are easy to miss when life moves too quickly.
As you wander gently through Seawinds Gardens and surrounding bushland, Chloe will offer a series of simple sensory invitations designed to help you step out of your head and reconnect with your surroundings.
Come as you are. No fitness, mindfulness or outdoor experience required.
Many people arrive feeling busy, overwhelmed or mentally tired. They leave feeling calmer, lighter and more grounded, with a clearer mind and a renewed connection with the natural world.
Come alone or bring a friend. Small groups create plenty of space to slow down and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Over two hours, you will:
Walk slowly through Seawinds Gardens and surrounding bushland (1–1.5 km)
Explore your senses through simple, guided invitations
Pause, sit and take time to simply be
Notice the changing landscape and seasonal signs of spring
Finish with a reflective tea ceremony
There’s nothing to achieve and nowhere to be. Just come as you are.
WHAT IS FOREST THERAPY?
Forest Therapy, or Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing), is an evidence-based practice that supports wellbeing through spending intentional, immersive time in nature.
Unlike a bushwalk, the focus isn’t on distance, pace or exercise. Instead, you’re invited to slow down and experience the natural world through your senses.
Research suggests Forest Therapy can support wellbeing by helping reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood and promote a greater sense of calm and connection.
DISCOVER SEAWINDS GARDENS
Perched around 300 metres above sea level, Seawinds Gardens combines established exotic trees — some more than 100 years old — with surrounding remnant bushland.
The gardens provide habitat for an abundance of local wildlife, including kangaroos, echidnas and many species of native birds.
In spring, the landscape comes alive with birds, new growth, seasonal colour and changing light, creating the perfect setting to slow down and reconnect with the natural world.
Small groups only • Limited places • Ages 18+
Location: Seawinds Gardens, Arthurs Seat
Duration: 2 hours
Full meeting point and what-to-bring information will be emailed after registration.
