Spring School Holidays 2026

At the beginning of each Farm Kids session we take the children on an educational and fun tour of The Farm. We introduce them to our cows, goats, chickens, sheep, bees, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie gardens while exploring the principles of regenerative farming. Children learn about pollination, healthy soils, composting, seasonal growing and ethical farming practices through hands-on experiences. Along the way they'll meet our friendly farm animals and, when available, taste fresh herbs, edible flowers and seasonal produce straight from the garden.

SESSIONS

Thursday 24 September: Workshop – Sunshine & Sunbeams!

9.30am – 12.30pm | Celebrate the arrival of spring while discovering why sunshine is one of nature's greatest gifts. Children will learn how the sun helps plants grow, supports wildlife and provides the energy that keeps our gardens thriving through playful outdoor investigations. Activities include making a natural zinc sunscreen, painting a vibrant sunshine-inspired artwork, and exploring the farm to discover the important relationship between sunlight and life. A bright and creative morning celebrating the wonders of spring!

Friday 25 September: Mini Farmers – Buzz & Bloom!

9am – 3pm | Step into the fascinating world of bees and discover why these tiny pollinators are some of the hardest-working creatures on the farm. Children will learn how bees help grow our food, why flowering plants depend on pollinators and how we can create bee-friendly gardens at home. Activities include rolling a pure beeswax candle, building a bee watering station to take home and enjoying a calming herbal tea ceremony with local honey. A beautiful day of creativity, nature and buzzing discoveries!

Wednesday 30 September: Workshop – Nature Makers!

9.30am – 12.30pm | Slow down, explore and create using nature's own treasures. Children will discover native seed pods, fragrant herbs and edible plants while learning about the incredible diversity growing around us. Activities include painting beautiful native seed pods, making fragrant herb wands to dry at home and enjoying a guided nature walk to discover edible weeds and Australian bush foods. A relaxing morning celebrating creativity and the natural world.

Thursday 1 October: Mini Farmers – Feather & Nest!

9am – 3pm | Discover the amazing world of chickens and eggs while learning how pasture-raised hens play an important role on a regenerative farm. Children will explore the life cycle of an egg, learn how chicks develop and meet our feathered farm friends. Activities include making beautiful eggshell beeswax candles, cooking delicious pikelets using fresh farm eggs and candling eggs to discover what's hidden inside before they hatch. A fascinating day filled with farm learning, cooking and creative fun.

Friday 2 October: Mini Farmers – Hooves & Hearts!

9am – 3pm | Spend the day with some of the farm's friendliest animals while discovering how goats help regenerative farms. Children will learn about caring for goats, what they eat, why they are excellent browsers and the many products goats provide. Activities include decorating fresh muffins with homemade goat's cheese icing, designing a dream goat paddock and feeding and patting the goats while learning about their care. A memorable day of animal encounters, creativity and delicious farm flavours.

Wednesday 7 October: Workshop – Lavender & Calm!

9.30am – 12.30pm | Relax, create and discover the calming qualities of one of the farm's most loved plants. Children will explore the lavender garden while learning how this beautiful herb has been used for centuries. Activities include blending soothing lavender bath salts, sewing a lavender pillow to take home and wandering through the lavender garden to discover the many wonderful uses of this fragrant plant. A peaceful morning full of creativity and natural wellbeing.

Thursday 8 October: Mini Farmers – Flower Power!

9am – 3pm | Celebrate the beauty of spring flowers while learning why blooms are so important for bees, butterflies and healthy gardens. Children will explore flowering plants, discover how flowers become seeds and help create colourful spaces for future visitors to enjoy. Activities include making a flower crown, designing a beautiful posy to take home and planting a colourful flower row in the farm garden. A joyful spring day bursting with colour and creativity.

Friday 9 October: Mini Farmers – Woolly Wonders!

9am – 3pm | Meet our gentle sheep and discover the amazing journey from fleece to fibre. Children will learn how wool is grown, harvested and transformed into clothing while getting up close with our flock. Activities include making an adorable sheep pom-pom, learning simple weaving techniques using natural wool and feeding and patting the sheep while discovering how wool becomes one of nature's most sustainable fibres. A warm and woolly day of hands-on creativity and farm fun.

WHAT TO BRING

Children will need:

• Sturdy walking shoes

• Raincoat

• Sunhat

• Healthy lunch and snacks and water bottle for full-day sessions (morning tea and water bottle for half-day workshops)

• Backpack (to carry above)

• All items need to be labelled

WHERE TO MEET

We will meet at the Farm House opposite the restaurant. Please look out for the signs to guide you.

AGES

These workshops are appropriate for children aged 5 and older. If your child is 4 they can attend with older siblings, however a parent or guardian will need to remain onsite at The Farm. Children as old as 15 have enjoyed our workshops. Check out our Mini Farmers program if you are looking for a full-day working farm experience.
