Spring walk shop at the Bee Hub

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Enjoy a short, mainly flat walk to the habitat of the small subpopulation of nationally endangered southern brown bandicoots (Isoodon obsesulus), where you will see an example of bush care that manages  introduced plants (blackberry in particular) that are providing protection and food for bandicoots, while caring for and encouraging the spread of native raspberry and other endemic natives. We'll likely find some lovely butterflies and other pollinators along the way. Back at the Bee Hub after the walk, watch bees at work in an observation hive, and see displays about honeybees and beekeeping, a native bee wall, and the homes of some native resin bees.

Afternoon tea provided.
