The face of scientific publishing is changing at a very fast pace. Swati Meherishi and Ramesh Premnath will speak about developments in the book publishing world and how researchers need to prepare for it. This author workshop has been devised specifically as a resource for faculty members looking to publish academic books and conference proceedings.

Your presenters:

Swati Meherishi
Editorial Director-Applied Science and Engineering, Springer Nature

Swati has lead the Applied Sciences and Engineering books program in the Asia Pacific region since January 2019 having previously managed a large portfolio of both Springer-owned and key academic society journals.

Swati holds degrees in Physics and Philosophy and is a member of the Materials Research Society (MRS), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). Swati serves on the Springer Nature Sustainable Development Goals steering group and is also involved in initiatives related to diversity and inclusion, the state of engineering education, and Women in Engineering and STM.

Ramesh Premnath, PhD
Senior Editor-Applied Science and Engineering, Springer Nature

Ramesh received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut, USA and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Argonne National Laboratory, USA and Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Singapore. As Publishing Editor in Applied Sciences with Springer Nature in Singapore he is responsible for books, journals and proceedings in various engineering disciplines. These comprise Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Signal, Speech + Image Processing, Communication Engineering. Ramesh is keen to connect with potential authors and further develop the network for publishing activities in Applied Sciences within Australia.
