St Albans School Christchurch 150th Jubilee Weekend

Come and join us as we celebrate 150 years of St Albans School, Te Kura o Hato Ōpani. 

We are excited to be hosting a series of events over a long weekend September 15th -17th. 

This Jubilee program includes both free events to see the school and enjoy performances from our current tamariki, and other opportunities with a small outlay to reunite and reminisce.

Friday 15th Sept - Open Day 

• Pōwhiri commencing at 9.20am
• Kai / Morning tea provided at 10.30am
• Tree planting and unveiling of memorial plaque and time capsule to mark this momentous occasion 11am
• Student performances begin at 11.30am
• School Tours commencing at 1pm
• Jubilee badges and magazine sales

Please feel free to attend this wonderful opportunity for all members of the St Albans Community to see the school in action and see how much the school has changed.  We hope to welcome the past, present and future to this open day. Tickets will be essential as we have capacity for our classroom spaces and attendance is registered for health & safety purposes

Saturday 16th Sept - Memories Day  

Reminisce and Reunite over Morning Tea 10 am -12.30pm

$25. Ticket includes:

• Catch up over a beautifully catered morning tea with your old schoolmates and teachers
• A chance to view our recently unearthed historical archives in the School Hall 
• Welcome packs 
• Professional photos taken in class/year groups, decade group timetable to follow. Access to photos will be provided digitally to ticket holders post event at no extra cost
• Jubilee Cake Cutting 10.30am 
• Jubilee badge and magazine sales

Jubilee Celebration-  St Albans School Hall 5pm - 7pm 

$75. Ticket includes:

• Wine, Beer, Cider, premixed Cocktails and soft drinks, Finger Food/Canapes from 5pm-7pm
• Guest Speakers - from the past and present 
• Performances from St Albans current and former entertainers
• Archives will be set up for viewing
• Photographer

**A small portion of all ticket income will go towards our special Jubilee fundraising projects and helping us enable our wonderful Kaiko to attend in the evening celebrations. 

Sunday 17th Sept - Gala Day 11am - 3pm 

• Musical performances from past and present students
• Community picnic
• Bring your own or dine from the amazing local Christchurch food trucks: Heart & Soul Kitchen, American Delight Mini Doughnuts, Kung Fu Dumplings.
• Old fashioned games and maybe even a few sack races

We are gratefully accepting donations over this weekend for a school drone. This form of technology is not only beneficial for students learning and fun, but a way of capturing and recording important school events that was not available in the past.
