St. Augustine Pilgrimage May 15, 2026
Description
You are Invited
Come and journey through St. Augustine—a place marked by both deep pain and enduring hope—and discover how God is calling us into the healing work of belonging.
This one-day pilgrimage invites you into a transformative experience of antiracism and cross-cultural hospitality as essential expressions of Christian discipleship. Rooted in prayer, reflection, and shared learning, we will journey together to listen, learn, and respond to God’s call to love our neighbors more fully.
What You Will Experience
Engage the story of St. Augustine as a lens for understanding racial trauma and the possibilities of transformation
Reflect on God’s work of healing fractures in us and between us at personal, interpersonal, institutional, and cultural levels
Practice faithful, grace-filled dialogue across differences
Grow in emotional and spiritual awareness for the work of reconciliation
Explore your own cultural story while honoring the stories of others
Discern faithful next steps for living out antiracism and cross-cultural hospitality in your church and community
This pilgrimage is not only a day of learning—it is an invitation to ongoing discipleship. Participants will also receive access to a 5-week small group study and a sample worship series to help bring this work back home into your congregation.
FAQs
- What is included in the cost?
The $99 per person cost includes pre-pilgrimage resources, lunch, snacks, materials, guided facilitation, admission to the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center and post-pilgrimage study and worship resources.
- How many people can participate?
We like to have a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 25 participants.
- Is there an age requirement?
No, we've had parents and grandparents bring their children and grandchildren. As long as children under 18 come with a responsible adult, they are welcome to attend. Some of the stories of both trauma and transformation we learn about on the Pilgrimage happened to young people who were 15-16 years old. The presence and insight of all ages makes the pilgrimage experience rich and rewarding!
- What should I wear and what do I bring?
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to walk approximately two miles. Please bring a device with earbuds for listening to guided content (via WhatsApp).
- What accomodations are there for different abilities?
Mobility accommodations are available for those who need them for the two mile journey through the city. We sometimes have a volunteer who is able to drive her golf cart for people who need to ride instead of walk. If our volunteer is unavailable, golf carts can be rented locally by clicking here. It is $130 for a 4-person golf cart. Let us know you need to ride in a golf cart when you register and we will contact you to work out the details.
- Are there scholarships to defray the cost of participation?
While we work hard to keep the cost to value at a maximum for participants, we also do not want cost to be a barrier to participation. Please message us so that we can come up with a plan for you to participate! 407-415-7850
