Rules of Ambrose
- Each player in team to hit off tee.
- Players then pick the 3 worst balls up & place them next to the best ball for their next shot.
- They may then each place their ball by hand within 1 club length (mark the spot with a tee) of the selected best ball
- All players then hit their ball from this position.
- Once the green is reached players may place their ball within hands span or card length from the best placed ball & play from there.
- This continues until the ball is sunk in the hole and is repeated at each hole.
- The team score per hole is recorded on the score sheet provided.
- Maximum score per hole is 3 over par (i.e. 7 on a par 4, 6 on a par 3 & 8 on a par 5)
- Score, minus roll of the two dice.

Rules for Longest Drive, Nearest to the Pin, Tee-offs, Dress Code, Golf Carts, Fixing Divots, Handicaps
Longest Drive - Men and Women
The ball driven the most distance and, on the fairways, shall be the longest drive. The Team Captain needs to sign the marker with Teams name to indicate the spot, write their name on the supplied card and have it confirmed by the other team captain or member.
Nearest to the Pin - Men and Women
The ball hit closest to the hole for 2 on selected hole. The Team Captain needs to sign the marker with Teams name to indicate the spot, write their name on the supplied card and have it confirmed by the other team captain or member.
Tees to be used: Everybody off the Yellow Tee’s
Dress Code: The golf theme for the day is anything Irish or Green. Fancy dress is acceptable but please adhere to the golf dress standards at all times. Singlets and rubber thongs are totally unacceptable. Polo shirts with a collar and covered shoes must be worn. Remember!
Do not wear your hats/caps inside the club house or you risk buying a drink for everyone at the bar.
Golf Carts & Hire Clubs: Please remind your team/s that motorised golf carts are not allowed inside the ‘Blue Lines’ around the greens and the carts must be parked a few metres away from the greens at all times.
Fix Divots: Please help to keep the golf course in top condition and carry a sand bucket to repair your team’s divots out on the course, and on the greens.
Handicaps: The team handicap will be decided by a roll of the dice. The team result will be based on the NETT score. A toss-off will take place where there are teams on equal GROSS and NETT scores.
Please bring your team cards into the registration area as soon as you get back to the club. Make sure that it is signed otherwise you will be DQ’d.
