Stage Our Play; Compass - Year 5-8
Event description
Join us for a week as you work towards performing scenes from one of ATYP’s Foundation Commission plays, Compass, by Jessica Bellamy.
The teacher is missing, there isn’t enough food, it’s getting dark and no one mentioned that the toilets out here are nothing but holes in the ground. For a small group of students, it seems their grade seven camp couldn’t get much worse, that is until a stranger appears.
Students will be given the full rehearsal experience in just four days. They’ll work with a professional director as they take on scene analysis, character development, components of blocking and working within an ensemble. At the end of the week, students will share selected scenes from the play with family and friends.
