Working Backstage in Ballarat: What is it really like to work behind the scenes in Ballarat’s live events industry?

Join Stage Ready for an open conversation with local technical crew, venue staff, freelancers and emerging practitioners about the realities of working in lighting, sound, staging, production and live events.

Our panel will share their experiences of getting started, building skills, finding work, working across different venues and productions, and navigating the opportunities and challenges of the Ballarat scene.

The evening will also include an anonymous question process, giving attendees theopportunity to raise questions or topics they may not feel comfortable asking publicly.

Questions will be grouped into themes and discussed respectfully by the panel.

This event is for anyone involved in, interested in, or looking to enter live production — including:

• technicians

• students

• volunteers

• community theatre members

• musicians,

• venue staff and,

• emerging crew.

Stage Ready participants attend free. General admission is $5 and includes light snacks and nibbles.
