Stand Up Comedy Course

If you’ve ever wanted to try stand-up comedy but didn’t know where to start, this short course with award-winning Canberra comedian Chris Ryan is for you. By request, Chris is bringing back her relaxed, fun, and informative stand-up comedy course in collaboration with Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Drawing on 14 years of experience in the comedy industry, Chris will share insights from a career that has included appearances in major TV galas, comedy festivals, and clubs across Australia. Over four weeks, participants will learn the fundamentals of comedy writing and performance, culminating in a five-minute stand-up set, in front of a live audience. Graduates of Chris’s previous courses have gone on to perform in the finals of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival RAW Comedy competition and at festivals around Australia, including Suma Iyer, Jacquelyn Richards, Trish Hurley, and Caitlin Maggs. Entry instructions

There is a ramp from the front carpark to the main entrance. The lift to the first floor, is located just inside the main entrance, on the lefthand side and opposite the stairs. The lift dimensions are: 2100mm (h) x 1450mm (d). The door is 880mm (w). The theatre is accessed from the first floor.

Toilets

TAC has left-hand transfer accessible unisex toilets located upstairs and downstairs. Gender-specific bathrooms are also available on both floors.

Accessible parking

There is one accessible parking space in the front carpark. If you require accessible parking, please feel free to use this space. If you or someone in your party has mobility issues where access to the TAC carpark is essential, please contact the Centre on 6293 1443 and we will reserve a space for you.
