In this interactive one-hour session, explore how meaningful recognition can enhance volunteer satisfaction, strengthen engagement and improve retention. Learn practical, low-cost strategies to celebrate contributions, create a culture of appreciation, and ensure volunteers feel valued for the impact they make.

Participants will learn:

• Why volunteer recognition is essential for engagement, wellbeing and retention

• The principles of meaningful and inclusive volunteer recognition

• Practical ways to recognise volunteers formally and informally

• How to tailor recognition to different volunteer motivations and preferences

• Strategies for embedding appreciation into everyday volunteer management practices

• How Standard 7 supports a positive and sustainable volunteer culture

• Actions they can implement immediately within their organisation to improve volunteer recognition and retention.

Who should attend?
Volunteer managers, coordinators, and leaders from community groups, sporting clubs, and Volunteer Involving Organisations who have attended An Introduction to the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.
