Standard Mental Health First Aid course - August 2022
Event description
Become an accredited Mental Health First Aider. The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis.
Learn to recognise common mental health problems (such as depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance use problems), how to provide initial help to someone experiencing a mental health problem using a practical, evidence-based Action Plan, and how to respond in a crisis situation (including suicide and panic attacks). During the course, participants have the opportunity to practice new skills in a safe environment.
Co-hosted with the 107 Redfern community hub which support emerging communities to be more connected, healthy, and sustainable to create positive social change.
