What is Standard MHFA?

Standard MHFA teaches PRACTICAL, EASY TO IMPLEMENT and EVIDENCED BASED strategies to support an adult experiencing a mental health problem, worsening of a problem or a crisis.

Every Australian should do a MHFA Course. We want MHFA skills to be just as familiar to the community as Regular First Aid!

The great news is that effective early strategies can greatly reduce the chances of a mental health problems developing and effecting relationships, employment and general wellbeing or contributing to other social problems.

There has been considerable research done around the effectiveness of this training; with all content based on guidelines which have been developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems as well as mental health professionals.

MHFA was developed in Australia but is now taught in over 25 countries worldwide.

Standard MHFA has been proven through research to increase understanding of common Mental Health problems. Standard MHFA training has even been proven to lower the incidence of mental health problems among those people who have been trained!
