Stanton Drama Presents: Radium Girls
Event description
Our first play of the school year!
The play, of course, is "Radium Girls," the largely true story of women who worked in a New Jersey factory in the 1920s using radium-based paint to make glow-in-the-dark wristwatches. When they began to develop strange illnesses because of their exposure to radium, the company denied any responsibility, and the women had to go to court to fight for compensation. This incident helped to lead, some decades later, to the creation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
