Star Gazing in Paddock Creek Reserve

Friends of Paddock Creek in conjunction with the Ballarat Astronomical Society will be holding three stargazing events during August, September and October 2023. Paddock Creek Reserve is a good place to stargaze as it is relatively dark at night with open skies to the west and south.
A Community Events grant from Moorabool Shire Council is supporting us to stage the events and a Stronger Communities Program grant from the Federal Government has enabled us to purchase a telescope.
The Saturday evening events will be held near the rotunda at Paddock Creek Reserve on Lyndhurst St - opposite the dam.
A limit of 30 people will apply for each evening so that everyone can have a reasonable viewing and a chance to learn how to use a telescope. It will be dark and could be cold, so please dress accordingly. If you bring a torch a red LED is preferred, if possible.
