Star Trails & Fine Art Lightpainting
Event description
Join us where we will be travelling to the dark skies of Quialigo NSW to discover the methods of Fine Art Light Painting in conjunction with Astro Photography to create star trail images. At this location, Michael and Pete will walk through an in-depth instruction and guidance workshop that will teach you how to find your way around in the dark to find the best composition, what exposures to use for star trail photography and how to focus in the dark.
This workshop is designed to teach you what you need to know to get started with photography at night. How do you make the stars streak? How do you capture them so they're not moving at all? How do I make my foreground visible as well? We'll cover everything from star trails to light painting in this photographic adventure in the dark.
This workshop will begin in the studio where we will spend the first 30 minutes with a classroom presentation to talk about the various techniques that will be taught so that, once in the field, everyone will understand the camera settings and techniques. We will then head outside to the dark skies where the stars will light up the evening sky.
Results may vary based on time of year, weather, and atmospheric conditions however you will leave this workshop with a solid understanding of the proper techniques for capturing star trails night sky and Fine Art Lightpainting
