Starfish Club Clayton Doley 6 February 2023

If you were at the Mahalia Barnes Starfish concert last November you would have seen Clayton play.

He is one of the finest Hammond B3 players in the country, if not the finest. 

It is always a pleasure to have him perform at the Starfish Club, he brings excitement, musical commitment, a deep groove, and an infectious sense of fun to every performance.
Over the last 20 years Clayton has played with a who’s who of international artists such as Joe Bonamassa, Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington, Harry Manx, Steve Cropper & Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn (Booker T & the M.G.’s, Blues Brothers), David Garibaldi (Tower Of Power), Jimmy Barnes, The Divinyls, The Dead Daisies, Hubert Sumlin, Mojo Buford, Louisiana Red, Guitar Shorty, Renee Geyer, The Mighty Reapers, Eugene Hideaway Bridges and Jackie Orszacsky.

A master musician, a killer boogie woogie piano player, a super funky Hammond player, and a remarkable singer/songwriter with a passion for creating new works that could have been recorded by the R&B greats from the 50’s and 60’s.
Doley captures the essence of Memphis Soul Organ and the New Orleans Blues Piano tradition while fusing contemporary Australiana and Americana.

For this special concert the 8 piece band will have a killer 4 piece horn section of our very finest players. namely James Greening - trombone, Matt Keegan - tenor saxophone, Simon Ferenci - trumpet and Steve Fitzmaurice- baritone saxophone as well as guitarist Franco Raggatt, (Jimmy Barnes) along with the Starfish Rhythm Section of Jonathan Zwartz and Hamish Stuart.
