Description

Set Sail for Adventure, and Roll for a Cause

Prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey into the Aetherial Expanse, Ghostfire Gaming's breathtaking setting of sky-faring ships, ruthless empires, notorious pirates, and endless adventure amongst the stars.

Join 150+ adventurers and 30+ Game Masters for what is shaping up to be one of the largest Dungeons & Dragons events ever held in Australia. Whether you're a veteran hero or brand new to the world of tabletop roleplaying, this is your chance to be part of something truly epic.

The Aetherial Expanse is a realm unlike any other; a vast sea of shimmering starlight drifting through the Astral Plane, where portals to distant worlds open and close without warning.

This adventure places players in the ranks of a renowned peacekeeping fleet tasked with protecting the Astral Sea from those who would threaten its fragile balance. When reports arrive of a devastating pirate assault on a remote settlement, your crew is dispatched to investigate, defend the innocent, and uncover the forces behind the attack before conflict spreads across the Expanse.

But this event is about more than just rolling dice.

Every ticket sold helps support the Starlight Children's Foundation, bringing happiness, fun, and positive experiences to seriously ill children and their families across Australia. Our incredible Game Masters are volunteering their time to make this event possible, including members of the Australian D&D community and content creators who share a passion for storytelling and giving back.

Your General Admission Ticket Includes:

🎲 Your own dice set to take home

📝 A pre-generated character sheet

🗿 A miniature for your character

🥤 A drink voucher

⚔️ A seat at one of the biggest D&D events Australia has ever seen

Whether you're seeking legendary battles, heroic roleplay, new friendships, or simply a chance to be part of an incredible community event, this is your opportunity to make memories while making a difference.

Gather your party, prepare your dice, and join us in the Aetherial Expanse.

FAQs

  • Is the event beginner-friendly?

Absolutely! Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or have never played Dungeons & Dragons before, you'll be welcome at our tables.

All characters will begin at Level 5, and your Game Master (GM) will guide you through everything you need to know. We've chosen Level 5 characters because lower-level encounters can often feel more restrictive and challenging for new players. Starting at Level 5 gives everyone access to more exciting abilities and allows for a more dynamic, fun, and heroic experience right from the start.

  • What age group is this event suitable for?

This event is strictly for participants aged 18 years and over due to the sale of alcohol being present at the event.

  • What do I need to bring?

Nothing at all! We'll provide everything you need to play, including your character sheet, dice, miniatures, and all the game materials required for the adventure. All you need to bring is yourself, a positive attitude, and a creative imagination ready for an unforgettable journey.

  • Do I need to create my own character?

    Not at all.

To help the event run smoothly and ensure every table is ready to begin on time, all character statistics and game mechanics will be pre-generated by our team. However, the personality of your character is entirely up to you! You'll still be able to choose your character's name, voice, motivations, quirks, and how they interact with the world around them.

Think of it as having all the paperwork done for you, while still having complete freedom to bring your hero to life through roleplay.

  • When should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes before the event start time.

This gives you plenty of time to check in, find your table, meet your fellow adventurers, and settle in before the adventure begins. Arriving a little early helps ensure everyone can start together and get the most out of the experience.

  • Can I book a table with my friends?

Absolutely! Tables seat up to six players, and we're happy to accommodate group bookings where possible.

This will depend on availability at the time of booking, but if a full table of six seats is available, we'll do our best to ensure your party can adventure together. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

  • What happens if I can no longer attend?

If you're unable to make it, please let us know as soon as possible. Since table numbers and seating arrangements are planned in advance, early notice gives us the best opportunity to offer your spot to someone on our waitlist or resell the ticket to another eager adventurer.
