Meet our speakers

- Fred Viet - Aircall Director of Sales, ANZ
After more than a decade working in cloud-technology and the startup community, Fred Viet has taken on a new and exciting challenge as Aircall’s Sales Director for the ANZ region. His CV proves a deep knowledge of the tech industry, having headed Amazon Web Services’ partner success program in Australia, as well as serving as an investor and advisor for multiple cloud-based startups.

Fred will be a keynote speaker during the event on "The Perfect SaaS B2B Sales Compensation Model". As you start your adventure in the SaaS world, you need to build a compensation model that attracts the right talent. The model also needs to align with the company’s financial metrics and sales needs. After 7 years of fine-tuning, Aircall has built an adaptive compensation model. We will share our journey and best practices on how to build the best compensation model for your growing business.

- Sylvain Mansotte, CEO at Whispli

Back in 2012, Sylvain Mansotte received a call from the newly appointed Chief Procurement Officer of a large Australian based construction company to assist in building a new function. He jumped at the chance, and one of his first priorities was to understand his new employer’s third party spend profile.
Within 2 months, Sylvain had uncovered a $20M fraud that spanned 12 years and led to the perpetrator – a finance executive with 30 years of experience in the company – admitting to the crime, and ultimately being sentenced to 15 years in prison. Although he was promoted in his organization, Sylvain couldn’t stop thinking how his experience as a whistleblower could have been better.
He was initially reluctant to approach any of his colleagues, and did not feel confident speaking to the third-party organization appointed by the company because it would compromise the anonymity he felt necessary. In 2016, he left the company he was working for and he decided to build a better solution, that’s how Whispli was born:
A secure and anonymous two-way communication platform to anonymously report misconduct or wrongdoing without fear of retribution
As the only platform on the market built by a whistleblower, Whispli has a unique understanding of what it has at stake and the importance of protecting the organization and the whistleblower.

Whispli, leading platform to engage anonymously with your employees whether it be for compliance, HR or culture purposes, is trusted by hundreds of compliance teams (including Westpac, CBA, Qantas...) in more than 100 countries.

- Allison Nikula, CEO and Founder at CareApp

CareApp is a powerful communication and engagement platform for aged care providers. It brings providers, residents, carers and families together to build a wonderful care community and support seniors to love the way they live. An Occupational Therapist with rare experience in both clinical healthcare and technology, Allison bridges the gap with flair and vitality.

Allison was inspired to create CareApp when her own Grandparents needed a little extra support. Allison's family wanted to be active contributors to their care, but communication was fragmented and visibility about their care and wellbeing was poor. At the same time, Allison was leading a team of over 440 community care workers and saw that her personal experience was not unique.

- Ben Colley, acting CEO at Teamgage

Ben started as management-consultant, but quickly reformed and has now spent 10 years in early-stage technology companies; ranging from day one in bootstrapped teams where everyone fits on one table, to venture-backed companies with offices in 5 different time zones. Previously he was VP of Product at Bluedot (SF), helped start LOKE (UK) and saw the rise and fall of Aston Club (Melbourne). Ben’s active in the Australian startup community as a mentor at Startmate, a scout for Airtree Ventures and curator the GOOD Product community. He is now acting CEO at Teamgage, the modern alternative to pulse and engage surveys, enabling everyone to continuously improve their own team and organisation. Founded in 2016 by Noelle & Ben Smit, ‍Teamgage is an SaaS company based in Adelaide and used by ASX100, Fortune 500 and government organisations around the world. Teamgage is a graduate of Techstars and the Microsoft ScaleUp program and was listed in 2021 by The Australian as one of the top 20 Aussie tech companies to watch.

- Adam Grocke, Founder & CEO at Sherlok

After over 12 years as a mortgage broker (and winner of awards like Broker of the Year and Top 30 Brokers Under 30 in Australia), Adam was sick and tired of banks offering better interest rates to new mortgage customers while existing customers were being charged a ‘loyalty tax’ (a higher interest rate the longer they’re with the bank). So he came up with a solution: Sherlok, an AI engine that helps mortgage brokers keep their clients for longer, protect their trail book income, and generate valuable refinancing leads.

Sherlock is an early stage fintech B2B Saas platform and Australia’s first automated repricing and refinancing tool.

- Richard Turner, Entrepreneur in Residence and Industry Professor of Practice at University of South Australia

Richard is a renowned Australian Entrepreneur, Leader and Innovator. He has founded four successful companies/organisations across four different industry sectors, was South Australian Entrepreneur of the Year for two of those companies 14 years apart (1996 & 2010) and Australian Entrepreneur of the Year for the Cleantech sector in 2010. His most recent venture, ZEN Energy was recognised as the fastest growing company in South Australia for 2010 & 2011 and the 4th fastest growing company in Australia in 2012 (BRW magazine). Richard is a specialist in re-invention and industry disruption, he is passionate about sustainability and wants to ideally assist companies that are driving change for the better, believe in their purpose and add value to future generations.
