🚀 Australia’s next wave of FinTech innovation is here — ARE YOU IN THE ROOM?

FinTech has been a standout performer in our region, with companies like Afterpay, Zip, Airwallex, Judo Bank, Up Bank, CoinJar, Zeller, Superhero, Stake and Swyftx leading the way (to name just a few!). It’s no coincidence that these global FinTech giants originated here — Australia has world-class talent, a strong financial services backbone, and a culture of digital innovation — this is just the start of a much larger wave of FinTech innovation coming out of Australia.

FinTech in Australia has grown rapidly from just a $250 million industry in 2015 to a $45 billion industry, employing more than 36,000 Australians today and continues to grow. We rank among the most sophisticated fintech sectors globally.

Unfortunately, FinTech has historically been difficult for Australian investors to access. This means that investors and operators within our ecosystem simply miss opportunities to build wealth and lead innovation from this fast-growing industry.

FinTech Australia - the peak industry body for the Australian FinTech sector, representing over 400 FinTech companies and startups, reports that almost half of FinTechs (43%) stated access to capital as a key challenge.

Some of the largest FinTech exits in Australia (such as Afterpay and Xero) didn’t even have Australian VC investors!

We want to fix this problem - to make early-stage FinTech investment more accessible to Australian investors.

We have designed a series of events to bring investor insights and present growing FinTech startups who are currently raising funds to scale their businesses.

Hosted at AWS’ corporate office, join us for a unique series of industry keynote speakers, networking drinks and pitches from some of the exciting Australian FinTech Startups:

• Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane)
• Dubai
• Singapore

Moderated by Andrew Morello (winner, The Apprentice (Aus) and Head of Business development, The Entourage), the event will include key speakers from FinTech Australia, AWS, Thriday, and Karia, as well as an Industry Panel Q&A with Mike Smith (Former CEO, ANZ Bank), Felicia Coco (Australia’s Leading FinTech PR Expert) and Mark Fitzpatrick (Group CEO, Lightspeed Group).

Each event will include live pitches from FinTech founders looking to connect with investors, and investors will have the opportunity to talk directly with these founders during pitch session questions or networking drinks.
