Swinburne Startup Year Information Session

Event description

Get that idea (or ideas) out of your head and into the world

Victoria’s startup ecosystem is thriving, with over 3,500 startups creating 56,000 jobs. But it takes more than an idea and a fancy pitch to turn a side hustle (or your team’s new product proposal) into success.

That’s why we’re running Startup Year – a postgraduate degree with a difference.

What is Swinburne Startup Year?

It’s a hands-on program designed to take an idea to solution in 12 months – and you get a Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship without doing exams.

Who can enrol?

Anyone who’s interested in shifting ‘business as usual’ and would like a framework for getting started.

You might want to innovate within an organisation or business or build a business of your own.

You’ll learn how to figure out where to start or turn an existing proposition into something worth scaling.

What kind of idea?

Any kind of business, product or service:

  • Personal services
  • Fintech and e-commerce
  • Health, biotech and medtech
  • Aged care
  • Sport
  • ICT, business systems and digitalisation
  • Education services and tools
  • Professional services
  • Science and research
  • Governance and security
  • Food systems

So if you’ve got an idea for a business or a product but don’t know what to do next, Swinburne Startup Year might be the answer. You may even be eligible for STARTUP-HELP.

Join the team from Swinburne Startup Year to learn more about the program and find out how you can contribute to shaping the future.
