Building a Procurement Pipeline That Works

Join us for this RAP Ring session with Dennis Kickett, Director, Transport Portfolio Aboriginal Engagement, BA (SocSc) - Main Roads WA. Dennis will take us behind the scenes of building a genuine Indigenous procurement pipeline across the entire transport portfolio.

Main Roads is currently delivering its Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (2025–2028), and Dennis will share how that commitment translates into practice - the systems, strategy and hard-won lessons behind building real, lasting relationships with Indigenous businesses.

We are grateful to have secured Terika Horwood, Senior Aboriginal Participation Advisor from Laing O’Rourke (LOR) to join this RAP Ring. Terika will share LOR achievements to date across the four RAP pillars, as well as how their deliverables have aligned with the Transport Portfolio Aboriginal Engagement objectives.

This session unpacks best practice in procurement and supplier diversity, and asks the harder question: how do we take engagement with Indigenous businesses beyond transaction, into genuine partnership? How do you influence contractors down the supply chain to bring them on the journey too?
