Josh Stewart loves skateboarding. He's been documenting raw, underground street skating for 25 years.

Josh self-funded the entire Static series. He's travelled the globe to lift the curtain on street skaters who don't get the shine they deserve.

They're skating for themselves and the culture. Not the corporation.

The previous five Static videos have included iconic parts from legends Bobby Puleo, Quim Cardona, Danny Renaud, Jahmal Williams and Jake Johnson.

The last instalments - Static IV & V - were released almost 10 years ago.

Everyone in the skate community believed there'd be no more after that.

It was the end...

Until two months ago when Josh announced the release of Static VI.

The final, final.

When I saw the trailer I immediately contacted Josh to ask if we could screen a premiere here in Aotearoa.

Like the Man from Del Monte, he said 'YES!".
